However, 23 people have died due to corona virus in Delhi during the 24 hours to Tusday, which is the highest number of deaths in a single state during the third wave. On Monday also 17 people died in Delhi. Now 87 people have died in the capital during the last 7 days, out of which 57 have died in the last 3 days only. Before Delhi, Maharashtra had the highest number of 20 deaths in a day in the third wave on January 4.

During the last 24 hours, 21,259 new corona cases have been reported in the National Capital. On Monday, 19,166 new cases were found here. Now the number of active cases in the capital is 74,881. The positivity rate has also increased from 25% to 25.65%.

1.67 lakh new corona infected were found in the country in 24 hours. 69,798 people were cured, while 277 people have died. In this way, an increase of 97,475 was registered in the number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment. At present 8 lakh corona infected are being treated. Just 11 days ago this figure was one lakh.

In the last 24 hours, 21.04 lakh new infected have been identified in the world. 9.55 lakh people have been cured and 4,608 people have died. Meanwhile, a lockdown has been imposed in Anyang city of China after 2 Omicrons were found infected. The population of this city is 55 lakhs.

Earlier, a lockdown has been imposed in Xi’an city with a population of 13 million and Yuzhou city with a population of 11 lakh. Now a total of 196 crore population in China is in lockdown. This lockdown has been imposed for large scale Covid investigation. According to Chinese media reports late on Monday, the people of the city are not allowed to step out of their homes. Non-essential vehicles have also been banned from exiting. At the same time, all shops have been ordered to be closed.

Once again in European countries, restrictions started being imposed due to Corona. When the government imposed restrictions, their opposition also started. According to a report in the ‘New York Times’, protests were held in many cities of Germany on Monday against the restrictions. Thousands of people attended them. On the other hand, the Italian government is going to take a tough stand regarding vaccination.

Corona and Omicron cases increased by 91% in Germany during 2 weeks while in Italy by 300%. Now governments across Europe are going to mandate vaccination and booster doses. 69% of people in the European Union are fully vaccinated. If we talk about Italy and Germany, 75% in Italy while 72% in Germany are fully vaccinated.

In the case of new infections, America tops with 6.73 lakh patients, while India has reached number two with 1.67 lakh. At the same time, Britain is at number three with 1.42 lakh. There has been a decrease of 3.02 lakh in new cases of corona as compared to the previous day. On Monday, 24.04 lakh new infected were found in the world.
