UBISOFT is again back with the 5th edition of their FARCRY franchise, FARCRY 5.

The first installment of FARCRY was released in 2004 and since then the game has been a favourite among its fans, after its great success Ubisoft acquired rights to the franchise and since then most of the development is managed by Ubisoft Montreal with assistance from other Ubisoft satellite studios.

Similar to its predecessors, FARCRY 5 is an action-adventure first-person shooter game set in an open world environment in which the players can explore various aspects of the game by foot or by different vehicles. Unlike the previous games of the franchise, this one provides players the option of selecting their character’s role along with its appearance. The players will have a huge variety of weapons to fight, while the game will introduce a new emphasis on close combats.

Creative director ‘Dan Hay’ describes the design of the open word lobby as being modeled according to the outposts from the previous versions of the game, the game will respond equally according to the player’s move. The game will also feature a recruitment option in which the players can recruit locals in the country to fight alongside them similar to the “buddy” system which featured in the second installment of this game named “FARCRY2”.  “FARCRY 4 “ had bell towers the player had to climb before opening up parts of the map and various activities in the region, ‘FARCRY 5’ will not feature such systems instead it would rely more on the player’s relationships with other characters in order to discover new story missions and events. The players can also tame and train wild animals with fangs that will be available on hire, the tamed wildlife would assist the player in combats. The campaign will have multiplayer mode also known as ‘friends for hire’. The game would also feature a map editor whose features have been inherited from the previous game titles.

Following the game’s announcement, the game was the topic of an online petition lodged at change.org by people objecting the portrayal of America’s Christians as villains and demanded the game’s antagonists to be recast as non-white villains or changing the game set to Canada. Nonetheless, the game is set to launch in March of 2018 and make its way to your XBOX, PC’s AND PS4’s.
